Leeta Clugston

"Since I have had my cataract surgery with Dr. Lorenz at Nevada Eye and Ear, I can now read my Wall Street Journal at night. And that’s wonderful. The surgery was comfortable. There were no surprises."

Carol Blacklidge

"Dr. Lorenz did a wonderful job and now I can see to drive and read signs. And I don’t have to worry about putting on those horrible coke-bottle glasses anymore!"

This email is to introduce myself. I'm an ophthalmologist by training and am currently an ocular pathology fellow at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. My previous research experience includes work in a glaucoma lab with Professor Levin (since Oct 2011) and I also serve as part time external faculty in the biomedical engineering department of Maine (since 2011). Briefly, I was involved in different projects in biomaterial (new material for artificial cornea), Biomechanics (Different CFD simulation in eye), molecular pathology (in diabetic eye disease) since 2002. I heard of your program and found it very much aligned with my interests and goals. I have taken and passed USMLE (Step 1:241, Step 2: 250, CS: first pass) and am scheduled to take step 3 in August 2014. I am reaching out to you to enquire further about the program and to question your thoughts about my eligibility. I realize that I am different from the regular applicants. However, I am confident that my past experiences, my work ethic and dedication will enhance my experience as a resident. Thank you for your attention Alireza Ghaffarieh
