My name is Dr. Derek Neibaur, and this is cataract awareness series episode one.
What is a cataract? A cataract is a clouding of the natural lens of the eye. This is due to a build up and change of the lens’s proteins. The natural progression is yellow, brown, and even sometimes white. This will lead to deterioration of the vision. It can cause blindness if left untreated.
